When Channel 5's The Gadget Show wanted to make an Internet connected Ice Cream maker, they chose PiFace Digital (with Raspberry Pi).
They used a PiFace Digital to control the LEDs and the solenoid that operated a valve to dispense smooth, refreshing, whippy ice cream. At least, that was the theory. Sadly, although the Pi and PiFace operated correctly, The Gadget Show didn’t quite manage to get their mix right and their contraption dispensed a dribbly mess.
